Initially, we were provided a budget range of $20,000 to $30,000. After careful examination, we had determined it to be unrealistic, for the following considerations:
Complexity of concept
The current concept is the most complicated idea in the three we pitched, and therefore also the most time and budget consuming. However, the concept will support infinite long gameplay as an exchange.
Product Quality
A product at a lower price might be delivered — however, in consideration with MTA’s status as an government agency, a low-quality game might not be beneficial to advertise MTA’s value, which is to provide satisfactory service for all passengers. In addition, a low-quality game may fail to reach as wide of an audience as we intended, which diminish the purpose for the project.
Location
We are an New York based agency, and in consideration of the location, our fee is marginally higher than others. However, we are mitigating the price inflation by providing a discount. We are also intended to hire fully remote developers to help reduce the price.
Market
As for the past year, the technology and entertainment related industry is suffering from an overdevelopment from pandemic, and unfortunately we are also impacted. Service is potentially marginally higher than pre-pandemic.
The quote we provided is $128,230 with the plan of hiring independent contractors only, a small team of developers, and a discount from us. We do respect our client’s opinion if a lower price is preferred. Please let us know if MTA still prefers a quote on the range of $20,000 to $30,000. In addition, below are some ways we suggest could help MTA fund the game:
