The stations are roughly divided into 3 sizes:
- Large Station (L):
- Example: Grand Central-42 St Station, Time Sq-42St Station, 14 St-Union Sq Station
- Income: ~0.02 millions/second
- Construction Cost: 3 millions
- Upgrades: After 8 minutes, Cost 2 millions
- Medium Station (M):
- Example: Delancey-Essex St Station, W4 St Station, Chamber St Station
- Income: ~0.01 millions/second
- Construction Cost: 2 millions
- Upgrades: After 15 minutes, Cost 2 millions
- Small Station (S):
- Example: 8 St NYU Station, Astor Pl Station, 77 St Station, 79 St Station
- Income: ~0.005 millions/second
- Construction Cost: 1 millions
- Upgrade: After 20 minutes, Cost 0.8 millions
The charge for rail tracks between the stations are as following:
- Long distanced: (40+ St crossed)
- Example: 14 St-Union Sq Station to 59 St-Columbus Circle
- Construction Cost: 1.5 billion
- Mid distanced: (15-40 St crossed)
- Example: Fulton St Station to 14 St-Union Sq Station
- Construction Cost: 1 billion
- Short distanced: (1-15 St crossed)
- Example: W4 St Station to 14 St-Union Sq Station
- Construction Cost: 0.5 billion
The special cases for train stations and rail roads, will be locked away until the player is familiar and skilled with the main game loop and the resource management:
- 34 St Penn Station: cost 4 millions build, but additional income of 0.025 millions/seconds from Amtrak passing through.
- Station and Railroads on Staten Island, or with Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) or Metro-North cost 20% more to build, but additional income 20% more and 3% boost on Satisfaction every minute.
Stations can also become special depending on what location it is built at, and player will have access to this information when they are choosing where to build the stations.
- Station with an arena, a concert hall, a park, or other places of large public gathering is more likely to have events.
- Example: Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr Station for being near the Barclay’s Center, 59 St Columbus Circle for being at the Central Park corner
- Older stations are more likely to have infrastructure accidents, such as water leakage, elevator out of the order, etc.
- Example: 42nd St-Times Sq Station, Canal St Station and 14 St-Union Sq Station all opened in 1904
